Serious Injury to Sils Stalwart

The Silhillians Rugby Club can confirm that one of its players, Sils stalwart forward Lee Jones, sustained a serious injury during a Midlands one league fixture versus Crewe and Nantwich on Saturday April 3rd.
Lee, 35, was driving towards the try-line in his usual robust style when the injury occurred; he was treated on the pitch and then taken to the QE where he was operated on that night. He is now in a stable condition and will be assessed further over the coming days.
The support for Lee has been immense, with many hundreds of messages of best wishes sent via social media for this popular player, an ex club captain who has played for the senior side for over 16 years and came through the clubs mini and junior section. Lee and his family are in our thoughts daily and his rugby family will be rallying round to help them through this difficult time
We would ask that you respect his family’s privacy as they concentrate on Lee’s recovery.
