It has been brought to our attention that comments are appearing on some club websites regarding performances of referees. Some of these could be seen as abusive.

Some clubs have already been spoken to on this issue and have taken appropriate action to stop this a happening.

I must point out that clubs can be disciplined for comments made by their members for bringing the game into disrepute.

If clubs wish to make comment on the the performance of a referee (positive as well as negative) they have a method to do this to the Referees Society but they should not go down the line of doing it through social media. grading@warwickshireref.com

I must also point out that the Society are short of referees and if some of the individuals who make disparaging remarks as to the performances of referees would like to take up the whistle I am sure the Referees Society will be more than willing to accommodate them.
