Julie has posted a new update to Lola's health on 1st January 2026
Happy New Year to you all, and wishing everyone a happy and healthy 2026.
Thank you once again for your incredible support throughout 2025 – it truly means more than words can say.
We were able to spend Christmas week all together in Arkansas, which was really special and is likely to be the first and last time we are all together in one place for quite a while. It has been a challenging time, especially with Amanda also suffering from vertigo, but being together as a family meant everything.
Lola managed to get out with us on one of the days and, with a lot of effort, was able to spend Christmas Day downstairs with us. The rest of the time she was in bed in a great deal of pain, but still somehow in good spirits, and her positive attitude continues to amaze us all. This week Lola had her 30‑day evaluation. There has been some positive progress, but the reality is really hitting her (and us) about just how much she will have to push through intense pain and fatigue to get into remission.
As the wonderful Lisa Cleaver, who helped her son Josh reach remission, said to us: “The patients realise at different times that they have to fight with everything they have to get their lives back.” That message has really landed with Lola over the past few days. Lola has more determination than anyone we have ever met, and there is no doubt she will give this absolutely everything.
t is going to be the biggest test imaginable for her, especially when she is already exhausted and in so much pain, but she is braver, more determined and stronger than anyone we have ever known. We are certain she will get her life back, no matter how tough and long the road is, and she will keep right on every step of the way.
Thank you again, from the bottom of our hearts, for all of your support, generosity and kind messages.
Words really cannot express how grateful we are for the difference you are making to Lola and to us .
