Sils U12s have had a remarkable season. After improving gradually over the last few seasons, 2014-15 saw a transformation which we all hoped for (but secretly no-one quite expected…

A few facts and figures:
• Unbeaten for the whole of the regular season (i.e. anything outside of Cups and Festivals), with one draw;
• Unbeaten on our tour to Gloucester (including a win over previously unbeaten hosts Old Richians);
• Semi finalists in the North Mids Cup, going out without losing a game (missing out on the final on the “first try scored” rule);
• Plate winners at Worcester Festival (the only time a non-selected side lost all season) whilst winning the Sutton Festival on the same day;
• Winners of the Camp Hill 7s without conceding a try;
• (Finally!) Winners of the Sils Festival;
• Land Rover Cup winners at Northampton Saints, the reward being a day out at Twickenham at the Parade of Champions at half time in the Aviva Premiership Final.

The boys won plaudits everywhere they went, not just for their fantastic attacking play and gutsy defence, but above all for the way in which they played, their positive attitude and the respect they showed for each other, opponents and referees alike. In short, we are incredibly proud of them, not just as winners but as a wonderful group of people.
