In glorious conditions down in Worcestershire Sils started as brightly as the Spring sun with a well worked try finished by Steve Hawkins. Upton came back strong however and after two first half penalties added a score in the corner just before half time, leading 11-5 at the interval.
Sils came out for the second half with more ideas and showed that even when not in full flow they can grind out a result. A driving maul produced the ball they needed as scrum half Andy 'Von Smallhausen' Cunnington had the vision to tee up Chris Mussel in the corner.
Sils third try came after pressure on their own line was turned over for Jack Hobbs to kick and chase the length of the pitch and turn over ball to set up Hawkins for his second of the afternoon, he added the conversion himself and a further penalty looked to have secured victory.
Sils went in search of the try bonus point but were caught out by an excellent counter attack from the home side to narrow the margin back to 4 points, which is how the game ended.
Sils remain in 3rd and host league leaders Barkers Butts on Saturday, who are needing just a point to clinch the league title.
