Although the score line did not flatter the hosts it did seem a little harsh on a hard working Spartans side that battled right until the final whistle.
On a rare dry day at Copt Heath Sils got off to a flying start, scoring a converted try with barely 5 minutes on the clock. The visitors however replied straight from the restart as the home side looked to stretch the Spartans defence, the visitors young winger managed to get finger tips to the ball and intercept to run 30m unopposed to score. This was to be the only points for the visitors as Sils dogged defence showed exactly why they have conceded the least amount of points in the league so far this season. A battling and entertaining first half ended with Sils up 3 tries to 1.
In the second half Sils went on to score 6 further un answered tries to keep the pressure on first placed Wolverhampton. To Spartans credit they never stopped playing right up until the final whistle which really helped for an enjoyable game for all.
Sils travel to Leek on Saturday looking to extend their unbeaten league run to 10 games.
