Injury Hit Sils Hit For Six

From the Worcester Wanderers web site...
The Wanderers came away with a fine win by 45 points to nil versus a wholly committed Silhillians RFC.

Bonus Point Win At Home To Silhillians
The score disguises a fast paced game, full of good rugby with both sides contributing.

Sills dominated the opening minutes, retaining possession for around 15 phases but, they were unable to breach a well organised and committed Wanderers defence.

Finally, the ball was turned over and the Wanderers enjoyed some possession.

Sills were equally determined in defence but, the Wanderers slowly gained the initiative and were rewarded when a controlled driving maul saw Jake Saddington emerge with the ball over the Sills line to open the scoring. Olly Meadows converting.

The Wanderers had the territorial advantage but, Sills had their fair share of possession.

Further tries from Mike Dodge, Tom Dodge and Lee Watson, with two conversions from Meadows secured a bonus points for the Wanderers.

It was Tom Dodge's try, the Wanderers third, which broke Sills hearts, the Sills were attacking and Dodge read the play, intercepting inside the Wanderers half and running 60 metres to score under the posts.

Half time Wanderers 26 Silhillians 0.

The second half continued in the same vein with both teams testing each others defence.

Sills attacked the Wanderers try line but, once again the Wanderers defence held firm.

The Wanderers broke out of defence with a sweeping move following a turnover, setting up a period of pressure on the Sills line.

Reinforcements in the shape of Tom Richmond, Jon Dawson and laterally Tom Ryder entered the fray and made immediate impacts.

The Wanderers had several drives at the Sills line before Gareth Owens scored the try, converted by Meadows.

Tries from Owens and Mike Dodge, Meadows adding one conversion completed the scoring in a highly entertaining game.

Final score: Wanderers 45 Silhillians 0
