Before you can become a SRUFC volunteer, there are a few things you need to do (and in a certain order which we can help you with). Becoming a registered member of the club, will mean you are also registered on the RFU’s Game Management System (GMS) (an online registration system, which you will have access to). GMS will give you access to course booking. You must also have completed the online e-learning RFU Safeguarding Course and have clearance from the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS), which clearance can only be applied for once you are registered on GMS and have first completed the e-leaning course.

Prerequisites of being a SRUFC Volunteer:

• Completion of Introduction to Safeguarding an online eLearning module available HERE
• Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) Check (with RFU clearance)
• Completion of Headcase an online Concussion Awareness Training Module available HERE
• Completion of full face to face Play it Safe Course.

You will be deemed a SRUFC volunteer once you are registered, have done the e-learning course, have completed and have a successful DBS check and you have completed the minimal training courses required for your role.

Note: The Safeguarding courses are for every volunteer, coach or match official who is working or has responsibility for children and vulnerable adults within rugby. Identifying best practice, it provides information and guidance on the responsibilities and support available for ensuring children and vulnerable adults are safeguarded appropriately. SRUFC Safeguarding Officer will ensure your participation in the necessary courses.

SRUFC kit is available from the following website, but certain kit is available (without expenses) for a number of club roles.
