5. Support & Training for Volunteers

What training do we expect our Volunteers to achieve?

High quality coaching, officiating and first aid/immediate care all contribute to reducing the risk of injury and provide a safe playing environment.

Therefore, it is important that individuals keep up to date with training specific to their role and have access to general information about safe practice both on and off the pitch.

The table attached provides an overview of all the courses available for coaches, match officials, first aiders, and other volunteers.

ALL volunteers will be supported in taking their CPD’s and England Rugby Coaching Award’s, but they must be appropriate to the age grade you are working with.

ALL course bookings must be pre-authorised by the Coach Development Officer and (if applicable) will be paid for by SRUFC. In this instance, we would ask for a two-year commitment and if you left the club within this time we will ask for any fees to be repaid.

How to book a course ?

First:

• Identify the correct course you are required like to attend.
• Seek pre-authorisation from the Coach Development Officer for reimbursement.
