9. M&J Assistant Coach Role Profile


Responsible to:

You will be responsible to the Age Group Lead Coach.

Main duties:

• To complete the “England Rugby Coaching Award” and any other relevant courses as identified in the training matrix.
• Assist the Head Coach with preparation of coaching and fitness sessions to develop players, the delivery of the coaching sessions, the coaching of teams at festival and the selection of teams.
• Maintain standards of conduct and safety.
• To keep up to date with current RFU and Club practices.
• Raise any issues with Lead Coach to report to the relevant Committee or Officer.
• Attend the monthly Coaches Meeting.
• Always carry a mobile telephone in case of emergencies.
• To assume the same duties as defined in the Lead Coach Role Profile (where necessary), to fulfil the assistant role.

The commitment from you:

A Team Coach is in the role for as long as the team is playing! The workload of a team coach will have two aspects, training and matchday.
